Johannesburg, South Africa, Harare, Zimbabwe, Vienna, Austria, Tokyo, Japan – October 13, 2014 – The Board of African Compass International Limited (“ACI” or the “Company”) today announced the donation of undisclosed amounts to GlobalMedic and Médecins Sans Frontières (M.S.F.) or Doctors Without Borders Ebola virus disease (EVD) aid missions.
ACI to-date has no reported or suspected cases of EVD at the Company’s JV iron ore exploration and development operations in Liberia. ACI and its JV partners essential stuff, however, remain affected by some continued travel suspensions inside the country as well as travel restrictions instituted by a number of countries to and from Liberia.
ACI and its JV partners have established initiatives and increased precaution processes to safeguard employees from EVD infection and continue to monitor the situation and comply with WHO recommendations and Liberia Ministry of Health & Social Welfare notices.
