Overview

Pre-feasibility studies for the multi-billion dollar 500-800MW hydroelectric power renewable energy projects on the Ntem river near Equatorial Guinea to meet regional energy demand completed and negotiations are ongoing with global financial and technical partners.

The project is well positioned to increase total power generation from hydropower on the continent of 16% estimated by the International Energy Agency (IEA – 2009) and add to Africa’s power sector needs of installing an estimated 7,000MW of new generation capacity annually forecast by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP – 2012).
